Liu yuan is an Interdisciplinary Artist and Curator based in New Zealand, and China. Her work weaves in and out of drawing, sculpture, and interactive installation. After earning her Bachelors of Fine Arts with honors from The University of Auckland, she completed her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture at Cranbrook Academy of Art.

 

Yuan was a recipient of the Sculpture Space Residency Program, New York, United States in 2020; ChaNorth Art Residency Program, New York, United States in 2020; Taoxichuan Art Center Residency Program, Jingdezhen, China in 2024. During 2021 and 2024 She was the Creative Director and the Deputy Curator for ANOBO International Education Research and Development Team which is incubated at Columbia University and is supported by Columbia Global Center-Beijing. Their International Children's Tech and Art Traveling Exhibitions has been held at China Children’s Center, Today Art Museum, China World Art Museum, Hunan Art Museum, Wuhan Qintai Art Museum, Wuhan Donghu Shan Art Museum, United Nations and Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
