My line is drawn in space, the sculpture is simply a line going for a walk and some stretching.

Sculptures, drawings, collages, video and furniture; this is another installation full of components. The non-site specific installation can exist anywhere physically and spiritually. Watching the short animation on a furry stool is the first puzzle you get before entering the room. A hint and the key to this room in which magic and ritual, landscape and domesticity, all fold in on one another. The steel structure seems gawky, with ungainly lines that stand wobbly. The shapes and lines are all about spontaneity, and the primal nature of my collage drawing is transformed into life-sized sculpture. The sculpture may appear childlike and clumsy at first, but by providing only the framework of the objects, the sculpture is asking for engagement and to project what the viewers want. I am projecting my stories and experience in the work by triggering the audience’s imagination and provoking abstract narratives in their minds.

My celebration of surrounding and my need of imaginary space ties together into the relationship between the environments I grew up in and the type of work I create. The shape and form I use in my work is often round and gawky. It speaks in a way that I tend to portray a friendly and gentle, inviting type of work to the audience. By removing the sharp points and edges, I realized the shapes and form become a hiding space, a shelter, a safe zone for me. And giving legs to the objects I made is like offering them a chance to run away and a choice to go back to their comfort zone. As I always illustrate myself as one of them, these objects almost become self-portraits. It asks for a personal reflective moment, for me and as well as the audience.
